Global Forum on Food Agriculture

The Global Forum on Food Agriculture (GFFA) 2013 in Berlin was attended by 13 FSC awardees and the visiting professor Victor Jimenez, from January 17-20, 2013. “Responsible Investments in the Agri-Food Sector – A Key Factor for Food Security and Rural Development” was the major focus of the forum. The International Panel Discussion was held with speakers representing perspectives from policy, industry, science and civil society. Ilse Aigner, German Minister of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, and José Pacheoo, Agricultural Minister of Mozambique, represented the field of politics. Nestle, Deutsche Bank and World Bank represented panelists from the industrial sector. Shenggen Fan from IFPRI filled in for the scientific community. Bärbel Dickmann from the Deutsche Welthungerhilfe and Petko Draganov from UNCTAD participated in the lively panel discussion representing the civil society and science.
