Excellence Scholarship (South-South)
| FSC awards top selected applicants from developing countries (see OECD DAC list) scholarships to obtain their PhD degree at one of the FSC's partner universities. |
There are certain topics from which the applicants may select as their doctoral research topic when they are applying for this scholarship.
Applicants who successfully applied for FSC`s Excellence South-South scholarship are so-called “pre-selected candidates”. Only after a professor at the partner universities has accepted the „pre-selected candidate“, he/she will be ultimately selected and awarded an Excellence South-South scholarship to conduct the doctorate.
However, after being selected for the Excellence South-South scholarship, all candidates are obliged to apply for an admission to enroll as a doctoral student at the partner university.
The candidate who has been awarded for an Excellence scholarship, has to follow the doctoral degree regulations of its respective faculty at the partner university.
Following the above mentioned procedure and succeeding in the application for FSC`s Excellence South-South scholarship as well as the acceptance as a doctoral candidate at the partner university, the scholarship is given for a stay at partner university, by FSC.
The duration, starting date and amount of scholarship defers depending on the topic and the hosting partner university. For more information, please refer to the details given in the research topic section.
Criteria for getting selected for a longterm-scholarship (S-S):
| 1. | Having a nationality of one of developing countries of the OECD DAC List |
| 2. | Indication for return to his/her home country and institute |
| 3. | Your research proposal has to relate to one of the research themes (see the "Research topics" section) |
| 4. | The final graduation at the time of submitting the application should not lie further back than 6 years (in exceptional cases a detailed explanation should be provided) |
