FCS team excursion to Ulm

April 30, 2013

On April 30, after the official farewell of Detlef Virchow as Executive Manager and the status colloquium of the Food Security Center, the FSC staff organized an excursion to Ulm to enjoy once more some time with Detlef Virchow and say good-bye. The excursion in Ulm started at the "museum of bred culture" with a guided tour. The director of the museum Andrea Fadani gave an excellent overview on the history of hunger and its implication on societies. Afterwards Christine Strang, a former student assistant of FSC, showed the team the city of Ulm.  The group climbed to the top of the famous Minster of Ulm, the highest steeple of the world with 768 steps. To recover from the strains everyone enjoyed a coffee and cake in a nearby coffee shop before returning to Stuttgart.
