DAAD Conference “Change Agents – The Faces of Change”
June 18, 2013
The DAAD Conference “Change Agents – The Faces of Change” was held in Heidelberg on June 18, 2013. Investments in the academic education of the youth and thus triggering transformation processes in partner countries is the philosophy and a driving force in the work of DAAD. But is the idea working? The DAAD invited current scholarship holders and alumni’s to the conference to reflect about changes and to get into a discourse about feasible preconditions. The event was hosted by DAAD President Margret Wintermantel and Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Dirk Niebel. A group of FSC scholars and staff members participated in the event. One of them, Tesfamicheal Wossen, was appointed to take part in the panel discussion “Perspectives from different fields of study” to present some examples of his personal experience in this regard.
