New batch of FSC PhD scholars in Hohenheim

In September 2013 the FSC welcomed the new batch of PhD students in the DAAD scholarship program. The six awardees started their research work in the three faculties of the University of Hohenheim respectively at different institutes. Under the supervision of different Professors they work of diverse scientific fields to tackle food security issues.
In this year it is Chanwit Kaewtapee from Thailand, TibebeSelassie Keflie from Ethiopia, Samuel Mburu from Kenya, Lina Maria Velasco from Colombia, Kiatkamjon Intani for Thailand, and Elyeza Bakaze from Uganda (from left to right).
The first steps in Germany were assisted by the colleagues from the Institutes and FSC staff. For three weeks they had an intensive German course before they started officially with the PhD program “Global Food Security”.
Additionally three other international students joined the PhD Program with different sources of funding: Alexander Wiredu from Ghana, Lamin Dibba from Gambia and John Opata from Ghana.
