Participants of the meeting underlined the necessity of Excellence cooperation between Germany and Africa. The South African Minister of Higher Education Naledi Pandor spoke of the ten Centres of Excellence with different orientations as a “foundation of enormous benefit”. The 10 years of cooperation within the African Excellence Programme proved to be successful in terms of sustainable, internationally competitive academic training.

The FSC is also active in Africa since 2009 with its mission in education, research, capacity strengthening and knowledge transfer and reinforces its cooperation with implementation of the German-Ethiopian Bilateral SDG Graduate School CLIFOOD.
