Annual Planning Meeting

February 27 - March 3 in Bangkok, Thailand

From February 27 to March 03, 2018 the Annual Planning Meeting of the FSC´s Strategic Partners took place at the Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand. Project coordinators and other representatives from each partner institution came together to discuss the activities and goals that the network accomplished in 2017 and to plan the upcoming events for 2018 and 2019. The participants of the Annual Planning Meeting were:

- Assist. Prof. Dr. Buncha Chinnasri, Vice President of International Relations at the Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand.
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wiboon Chongrattanameteekul and Dr. Chanwit Kaewtapee from Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand.
- Prof. Dr. Reiner Doluschitz (FSC Director), Prof. Dr. Jan Frank (FSC Vice Director), Dr. Jenny Kopsch-Xhema (FSC CEO) and Dr. Nicole Schönleber (FSC CEO) from the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany.
- Prof. Dr. Víctor M. Jiménez from the University of Costa Rica, San José, Costa Rica.
- Dr. Maria Cristeta N. Cuaresma from SEARCA (Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture) in Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines.
- Dr. John Mburu from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.

Some of the activities organized by the Food Security Center and its Strategic Partners in 2017 were, among others, workshops, summer schools and international conferences on topics related to food security. These activities promote the sharing of knowledge among all participants and the training and further education of key members of the communities. Furthermore, through this network it has been possible to provide several research scholarships, contributing to FSC's mission: to reduce hunger and achieve food security through innovative and effective scientific findings.
