CLIFOOD Block Seminar 6: Official Day

The highlight of the Block Seminar 6 was the public event on 10 October 2019. The official day was opened by CLIFOOD Scientific Leader Dr. Tesfaye Abebe Amdie, Vice President for Academic Affairs of Hawassa University Dr. Fisiha Getachew and the FSC CEO Dr. Nicole Schönleber, University of Hohenheim.
The highlight of the day were two keynotes
- “National land rehabilitation program: lessons from Ethiopia” by Dr. Tefera Mengistu / Ethiopian Ministry of Environment and Forest, Addis Abeba, Ethiopia
and
- “Unsustainable agricultural practices and its impact on lake ecosystem” by Dr. Fassil Eshetu Teffera / AMU-IUC Program Manager, Assistant Professor-Aquatic Ecology,Biology Department, Arba Minch University, Ethiopia
Official lunch offered a platform for follow up discussions and networking.
This seminar is part of the qualification program for the SDG Graduate School CLIFOOD, it is the fifth of seven Block Seminars planned per generation of PhD Scholars between the Hawassa University (HU) in Ethiopia and the University of Hohenheim (UHOH) in Germany.
