FSC scholar Pride Ebile was invited as an expert to the workshop on ”Home Gardens as a Coping Strategy in Crises and Humanitarian Emergencies” in April 2019 in Bonn.

Pride gave a talk on:
From Nutrition-Sensitive to Nutrition-Specific interventions: The Case of “Eco-Sustainable Gardens Empowering Mbororo Minority Women” in the Northwest Region of Cameroon.

FSC congratulates Pride since his topic fits quite well to the objective of the workshop which is to advance in the knowledge of home and school gardens, resilience, food security, and related interventions. The workshop further aims to deepen the understanding of how informal small-scale home gardening acts as a coping strategy to strengthen the food and nutritional security and resilience of vulnerable households living under extreme uncertainty. In addition, participants will learn more about how home and school gardens may have positive effects beyond their immediate outcomes (food security and nutrition), such as on women empowerment.

Workshop Organizers: IGZ and ISDC, Deutsche Welthungerhilfe, Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen and IAMO.
