From July 9 – 12 a short course on “Measurement of Food Security and Human Welfare” at Santa Clara, Cuba was hold by Prof. Zeller.

Motivated by an intensified cooperation between the Food Security Center and the Faculty of Economics of the University of Marta Abreu, Professor Manfred Zeller hold a short course on facts and trends of food security worldwide. Topics covered in the course included the global situation of nutrition and malnutrition as well as the main determinants of food security, namely agribusiness and the importance of the social and corporate responsibility, and organic farming and biofuels.
