World Food Day Colloquium
Since 2011, the World Food Day Colloquium (WFDC) has been held annually on October 16 at the University of Hohenheim in cooperation with the foundation fiat panis, Ulm. The WFDC has been well established in the academic, political and societal environment at national and international levels (with roughly 150 participants).
The WFDC gathers scientists and experts in various disciplines to share most recent research results and discuss effective solutions contributing to the achievement of SDG 2 zero hunger. Each year’s WFDC offers a platform for expert discussion with the focus on a particular annual theme, usually with regard to contents of the respective International Year of the United Nations. The presentation of the Justus von Liebig Award for World Nutrition by the foundation fiat panis as well as the Hans-Ruthenberg Memorial Lecture given by the Hans-Ruthenberg-Institute are special annually alternating highlights of the WFDC.
